SOA
The use of SOA provides a great number of advantages when new solutions are to be developed.
SAP's SOA solutions are constructed of small, functional building blocks, the so-called enterprise services, each of which delivers functionality to the support of a well defined, but generalised, business process element.
The IT solution for the support of a specific overall business process is constructed by using the abovementioned building blocks.
As the building blocks can be included in different business processes, the development process is streamlined through greater reutilisation of thoroughly tested program elements.
At the same time, it is easier to implement modifications in the business processes as changes are made by replacing a certain number of building blocks or, if necessary, by modifying the interplay between the individual blocks.
