Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management is a key concept for most businesses.
Today businesses face greater demands when it comes to optimising the entire process, from the supplier all the way to the client. Using a company’s business-related goals as a starting point, it is vital that the value chain and processes are clearly defined, documented and implemented as efficiently as possible.
Defining and making Key Performance Indicators (KPI) visible ensures that the SCM process can continually be benchmarked and optimised.
SCM ensures that a business’ planning and execution occurs as a total process in order to attain the complete optimisation of logistics, production, sales and delivery to the customer.
Segmenta delivers the right solution
Segmenta has significant experience in implementing Supply Chain Management in different industries. Among other things, the solutions include sales, logistics, production, service and cost management, both with respect to process optimisation and SAP solutions.
SCM is an ongoing process in which you become more and more effective over time, based on constant optimisation.
Segmenta normally recommends that a SCM project is done in three phases:
- Stabilisation and documentation of the existing Supply Chain
- Creating the foundation for real SCM and the implementation hereof
- Continuous optimisation for “Best in Class” SCM
Segmenta will gladly assume full project responsibility for your SCM implementation. As part of an implementation project, we recommend that the following activities be completed:
- Management workshop for the definition and documentation of the business’ value chain and SWOT analysis.
- Workshop to create an understanding of the existing Supply Chain
- Management workshop for the definition and documentation of KPIs in order to optimise and improve future Supply Chain and cost optimisation.
- Establish master project plan with milestones for the implementation of Supply Chain Management.
- Establish cost/benefit analysis (internal and external costs) in preparation for a business case for an SCM implementation.
Afterwards, an implementation can be made in SAP with a Business Blueprint, Realisation and Go Live.
An essential element in an SCM implementation is Change Management. Segmenta has the competences to ensure the proper training and implementation of new processes in the organisation, including the introduction of new benchmark criteria consisting of KPIs and more.
Contact Segmenta if you plan on implementing SAP SCM any time soon.
Good advice and proper guidance before the beginning of a project often lead to successful implementation – and not least – better cost management.
